Glucose-PEG5000-NHS is a conjugate composed of glucose, PEG chains, and an active ester (NHS). Glucose-PEG5000-NHS combines the targeted recognition capabilities of glucose with the ability to rapidly covalently react with molecules containing primary amines (such as proteins, peptides, and amino-modified small molecules) to form stable amide bonds in an NHS ester. This allows for applications such as constructing targeted drug delivery systems and modifying nanoparticles.

Description

Glucose-PEG5000-NHS is a conjugate composed of glucose, PEG chains, and an active ester (NHS). Glucose-PEG5000-NHS combines the targeted recognition capabilities of glucose with the ability to rapidly covalently react with molecules containing primary amines (such as proteins, peptides, and amino-modified small molecules) to form stable amide bonds in an NHS ester. This allows for applications such as constructing targeted drug delivery systems and modifying nanoparticles.

In Vitro

The Glucose-PEG-NHS structure comprises three key components that work synergistically:
Glucose: Specifically recognizes and binds to glucose transporters (such as GLUT1) highly expressed on the surface of various cells (especially tumor cells), enabling receptor-mediated active targeted delivery.
PEG Chain: Acts as a hydrophilic spacer, forming a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing non-specific adsorption and immune system clearance, thus prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
NHS: Serves as a reaction interface, reacting efficiently with molecules containing primary amino groups (such as antibodies and peptides) under mild conditions to form stable covalent bonds.

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
