LB Agar is a nutrient-rich bacterial medium prepared by adding Agar to lysogeny broth (LB). LB Agar supports the growth of Enterobacteriaceae, Escherichia coli, related intestinal species, and various facultative microorganisms. LB Agar is used for Escherichia coli plaque assays.

Biological Activity
LB agar (24-48 h) supports the growth of pure or mixed bacterial cultures, enabling observation of colony morphology after 24 or 48 hours of incubation at the organism's ideal temperature[1].
