Methacrylamide
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Methacrylamide (2-Methylacrylamide) is a vinyl monomer and gelatin derivatization reagent that enables chemical crosslinking of Gelatins (HY-Y1365) via free radical polymerization, facilitating the formation of chemically stable hydrogels and the synthesis of pyridine-containing polymers. Methacrylamide is used in research related to biomaterials and polymer synthesis.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Methacrylamide-modified gelatin hydrogels (7-40% DS; 30 min) display mechanical properties arising from both chemical cross-linkage and physical structuring, with higher DS producing denser, more thermally stable networks[1].
Methacrylamide-modified gelatin hydrogel films (60% DS) stored at 4 °C gain storage modulus below 30 °C through physical structuring while remaining chemically stable above 30 °C[1].
