Coagulation Factor IX/F9 Protein, a vitamin K-dependent plasma protein, plays a crucial role in the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation. Its function involves converting factor X into its active form, and this process is facilitated in the presence of Ca(2+) ions, phospholipids, and factor VIIIa.

Measured by its ability to cleave 10μM fluorogenic peptide substrate, Mca-RPKPVE-Nval-WRK(Dnp)-NH2. The specific activity is 227.339 pmol/min/μg, as measured under the described conditions. (Activation description: The proenzyme needs to be activated by Thermolysin for an activated form.)
