Biologische Aktivität
RFP Protein, Discosoma sp. (His) is the recombinant RFP, expressed by E. coli , with His labeled tag.
RFP is thought to play a role in photoprotection of the coral's resident symbiont microalgae's photosystems, preventing photoinhibition caused by high light levels near the surface of coral reefs. In deeper water, its fluorescence may convert blue light into longer wavelengths more suitable for photosynthesis by the microalgal symbionts.
