Cat. No.: HY-Y1139S2
CAS No.: 78629-92-2
Synonyms: Heptanedioic acid-13C2; 1,5-Pentanedicarboxylic acid-13C2; 1,7-Heptanedioic acid--13C2
Pimelic acid- 13C2 (Heptanedioic acid- 13C2) is the 13C-labeled Pimelic acid (HY-Y1139). Pimelic acid (Heptanedioic acid; 1,5-Pentanedicarboxylic acid) is a seven-carbon α,ω-dicarboxylic acid and a downstream product of fatty acid synthesis. Pimelic acid is a key precursor in biotin biosynthesis. Pimelic acid can be converted to pimelic acid-CoA by the BioW enzyme, thereby bypassing exogenous biotin requirements to support growth in various biotinytrophic bacteria and fungi, and reversing antibiotic-induced inhibition of biotin synthesis. Furthermore, Pimelic acid has been proposed as a highly specific biomarker for oxygen-induced retinopathy in mice. Pimelic acid can be used to study retinopathy of preterm infants, oxygen-induced retinopathy, and microbial biotin metabolism .

Phospholipase

Research Areas:

Infection

Soy PE (LPI) is the most abundant phospholipid in prokaryotes and the second most abundant found in the membrane of mammalian, plant, and yeast cells, comprising approximately 25% of total mammalian phospholipids. In the brain, phosphatidylethanolamine comprises almost half of the total phospholipids. It is synthesized mainly through the cytidine diphosphate-ethanolamine and phosphatidylserine decarboxylation pathways, which occur in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondrial membranes, respectively. It is a precursor in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine and arachidonoyl ethanolamide and is a source of ethanolamine used in various cellular functions. In E.coli, phosphatidylethanolamine deficiency prevents proper assembly of lactose permease, suggesting a role as a lipid chaperone. It is a cofactor in the propagation of prions in vitro and can convert recombinant mammalian proteins into infectious molecules even in the absence of RNA. This product contains phosphatidylethanolamine molecular species with variable fatty acyl chain lengths at the sn-1 and sn-2 positions .

Lipid X is a 2,3-diacylglucosamine-1-phosphate that serves as the monosaccharide precursor of lipid A, possessing both LPS antagonist and weak agonist activities. Lipid X exerts protective effects by inhibiting tumor necrosis factor production, monocyte procoagulant activity, and neutrophil priming. Lipid X may induce transient pulmonary hypertension, neutropenia, and mild pyrogenic effects in laboratory animals. Lipid X has low toxicity and no in vitro antibacterial activity, but it significantly reduces mortality following Gram-negative bacterial infection and endotoxin exposure. Lipid X tends to accumulate in liver tissue, binds to circulating cellular components, and can be converted to lipid Y through transesterification. Lipid X can be used in research on Gram-negative bacterial sepsis, endotoxemia, and associated pulmonary hypertension .

Nepafenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent, is a topically administered COX-2 inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.12 μM. Nepafenac exhibits only weak COX-1 inhibitory activity (IC50 = 64.3 μM). Nepafenac possesses unique prodrug properties, which enable it to rapidly convert into the active metabolite Amfenac (HY-17479) in the ocular tissues, thereby achieving high concentrations in the retina and choroid. Nepafenac reduces inflammation and pain by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and thereby decreasing the production of prostaglandin PGE. Nepafenac can delay the metastasis of uveal melanoma (UM) in rabbit eyes. Nepafenac is mainly used for pain management and inflammation control after ophthalmic surgeries.

Fluorescent Dye

Others

closed-HMRG is an HMRG (HY-D2379) with a closed spiro-ring structure. HMRG is a fluorescent dye, which serves as the fluorescent active product generated by enzyme-activated fluorescent probes targeting proteases and glycosidases. Its detection mechanism relies on the intramolecular spirocyclization equilibrium: HMRG itself exists in an open non-spirocyclic structure under physiological pH, which maintains a conjugated π system and produces strong fluorescence; whereas its probe precursors (such as Leu-HMRG, Ac-GlyPro-HMRG and βGal-HMRG) exist in a closed spirocyclic form and show no fluorescence due to the disruption of the π-conjugated system; when the target enzyme cleaves the substrate fragment linked to the probe precursor, the closed spirocyclic structure converts to the open structure of HMRG, restoring the conjugated system and generating a strong fluorescent signal. Its detection wavelength is Ex/Em = 501/524 nm .

2A3 (2-aminopyridine-3-carboxylic acid imidazolide) is a covalent probe reagent for Selective 2'-Hydroxyl Acylation analyzed by Primer Extension (SHAPE) that targets the RNA ribose 2'-OH group. 2A3 efficiently permeates the biological membranes of Gram-negative bacteria, Gram-positive bacteria, and mammalian cells. 2A3 exhibits no base bias and specifically labels conformationally flexible, unpaired regions within RNA. 2A3 forms covalent adducts by acylating the 2'-OH groups of flexible RNA residues. When combined with SHAPE-MaP (mutational profiling) sequencing technology, these modification sites are converted into detectable mutational signals, thereby accurately reflecting local RNA backbone flexibility and base-pairing status. 2A3 is primarily utilized in molecular biology and transcriptomics research, including the resolution of RNA structuromes in living cells, the study of RNA folding regulatory mechanisms, and the investigation of non-coding RNA functions .
