TSPBA is a bis-terminal phenylboronic acid-spacer diammonium salt crosslinker. TSPBA forms dynamic phenylboronate ester bonds with PVA, enabling the preparation of injectable self-healing hydrogels and endowing them with injectability, self-healing property, ROS-responsive degradation, tissue adhesion, and weak glucose-binding ability. TSPBA is applicable to research related to diabetic wounds.

Biological Activity
TSPBA (3 w/v%; 2 days) containing PATA hydrogels disrupt MSSA, MRSA, and E. coli biofilms in vitro, as evidenced by SEM visualization of dispersed biofilms, with bacterial lysis restricted to SF-loaded hydrogel formulations[1].
TSPBA (3 w/v%; 2 h) containing PATA hydrogels scavenge over 60% of intracellular ROS in H2O2-stimulated L929 fibroblast cells in vitro[1].
TSPBA (3 w/v%; 24 h) containing PATA hydrogels do not reduce glucose concentrations in L929 fibroblast cell culture supernatants in vitro, while MH-loaded PATA hydrogel formulations do lower supernatant glucose levels[1].
