1,2-Dilinoleoyl-sn-glycerol is a diacylglycerol (DAG) with linoleic acid (HY-N0729) (18:2) side chains attached at both the sn-1 and sn-2 positions. 1,2-Dilinoleoyl-sn-glycerol can be prepared from L-dilinoleoylphosphatidylcholine via hydrolysis with phospholipase C.

In Vitro
1,2-Dilinoleoyl-sn-glycerol (10 min) is catalyzed for phosphorylation by purified Dictyostelium discoideum DGKA with peak specific activity of ~250 nmol/min/mg at pH 7.0, shows higher activity toward this dipolyunsaturated substrate than toward monounsaturated or mixed saturated/polyunsaturated long-chain diacylglycerols, and has its activity enhanced ~10-fold by phosphatidylserine[2].
1,2-Dilinoleoyl-sn-glycerol levels in pooled human fecal samples decrease with extended storage at -20°C (to 0.27-fold after 1 month), 4°C (to 0.46-fold after 48 h), and room temperature (to 0.50-fold after 48 h) relative to -80°C storage, and its ratio with N-linoleoyl leucine serves as a useful lipidomic stability marker for fecal samples[3].
