Antibacterial agent 361 is an antibacterial agent as well as a membrane-permeable prodrug. Antibacterial agent 361 binds to subsite I of the linear motif binding pocket of the Escherichia coli sliding clamp, disrupts the interaction between the sliding clamp and its chaperone protein, and inhibits sliding clamp-dependent in vitro DNA replication. Antibacterial agent 361 can be used in the research of bacterial infections.

Biological Activity
Antibacterial agent 361 (compound 10) inhibits the interaction between the Escherichia coli sliding clamp and the consensus linear motif peptide, with a Ki of approximately 499 μM and an IC50 of approximately 899 μM[1].
Antibacterial agent 361 is a prodrug of compound 8[1].
Antibacterial agent 361 (24 h) inhibits the growth of E. coli DH5α, B. subtilis SU5 and S. aureus NCTC8325 with an MIC of 22 μg/mL; it exhibits an MIC of 43 μg/mL against A. baylyi ADP1[1].
