Antibacterial agent 378
Antibacterial agent 378 is an antibacterial agent. It functions by disrupting the cell membranes of Xoc (EC50 = 0.70 μg/mL) and inhibiting the formation of biofilms and extracellular polysaccharides, while simultaneously activating the JA signaling pathway and systemic plant defense mechanisms in rice. Antibacterial agent 378 can be used in research on bacterial leaf streak in rice.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
Antibacterial agent 378 (50-100 μg/mL; 10 h) directly compromises the Xoc cell envelope, causing severe morphological damage at 50 and 100 μg/mL[1].
Antibacterial agent 378 (0.5-8 μg/mL; 72 h) inhibits Xoc biofilm formation in a concentration-dependent manner, reaching 73.56% inhibition at 8 μg/mL[1].
Antibacterial agent 378 (2 μg/mL; 72 h) suppresses Xoc EPS production at 2 μg/mL and above[1].
Antibacterial agent 378 (200 μg/mL; 14 dpi) induces a systemic transcriptional response in Xoc-inoculated rice leaves at 14 dpi, with 358 DEGs and enrichment of membrane, jasmonic acid-related, and metabolic pathways[1].
Antibacterial agent 378 (200 μg/mL; 24 h before or after Xoc inoculation, 14 dpi) provides protective and curative efficacy against Xoc in rice, reducing lesion length to 1.16 cm in the curative assay and 1.32 cm in the protective assay at 14 dpi[1].
Antibacterial agent 378 (200 μg/mL; tillering stage) shows no visible phytotoxicity in rice plants (Oryza sativa L. cv. Xiushui 134)[1].
