Acetobixan
Acetobixan is an inhibitor of Cellulose Synthase A6 (CESA6). Acetobixan inhibits cellulose components of Pythium insidiosum cell walls. Acetobixan can be used for the research of Pythium insidiosum keratitis.

Biologische Aktivität
Acetobixan disrupts cellulose biosynthesis in plant cells by dissociating YFP-tagged CESA6 complexes from the plasma membrane[1].
Acetobixan (1-10 μM; 7 days) reduces cellulose content in a concentration-dependent manner in dark-grown wild-type Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings, with significant reductions observed at 5 μM and 10 μM[2].
Acetobixan (50 μM; 1 h) induces relocalization of YFP-CesA6 from the plasma membrane to cytoplasmic vesicles without disrupting cortical microtubules in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings[2].
Acetobixan (1-20 μM; 7 days) inhibits root growth in wild-type, ixr1-2, ixr2-1, and aegeus/ags Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings equally, shows concentration-dependent hypocotyl growth inhibition in dark-grown wild-type seedlings[2].
Acetobixan (1 μM) inhibits cellulose biosynthesis in etiolated Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings, reduces plasma membrane-localized cellulose synthase complexes, and inhibits hypocotyl elongation[3].
Acetobixan potently inhibits cellulose biosynthesis in wild-type Arabidopsis thaliana seedlings, inducing severe radial swelling without disrupting cortical microtubule dynamics, and does not exhibit cross-resistance with isoxaben-resistant Arabidopsis thaliana mutants[4].
