Biological Activity: Methyl O-methylpodocarpate is an influenza A virus (H1N1) inhibitor with activity against H1N1 strains resistant to Oseltamivir and Amantadine, with an EC50 of 0.73 μM. Methyl O-methylpodocarpate blocks viral membrane fusion by targeting hemagglutinin (HA). Methyl O-methylpodocarpate shows only weak activity against the H3N2 subtype and exhibits no significant cytotoxicity to MDCK cells. Methyl O-methylpodocarpate can be used in studies related to H1N1 infection[1].
