Methyl O-methylpodocarpate
Methyl O-methylpodocarpate is an influenza A virus (H1N1) inhibitor with activity against H1N1 strains resistant to Oseltamivir and Amantadine, with an EC50 of 0.73 μM. Methyl O-methylpodocarpate blocks viral membrane fusion by targeting hemagglutinin (HA). Methyl O-methylpodocarpate shows only weak activity against the H3N2 subtype and exhibits no significant cytotoxicity to MDCK cells. Methyl O-methylpodocarpate can be used in studies related to H1N1 infection.

In Vitro
Methyl O-methylpodocarpate (compound 21) inhibits the infection of MDCK cells by the oseltamivir- and amantadine-resistant influenza A virus strain A/Puerto Rico/8/34 (H1N1), with an EC50 value of 0.73 μM. It exhibits only weak activity against influenza A virus strain A/Hong Kong/8/68 (H3N2) and shows no cytotoxicity toward MDCK cells[1].
