Biological Activity: Aib-Aib is a dipeptide compound formed by the condensation of two non-proteinogenic α-aminoisobutyric acid residues. Aib-Aib confers strong resistance to proteolytic degradation as a core component of natural peptaibols. Aib-Aib strongly induces and locks the peptide backbone into stable helical conformations through the massive steric hindrance of its dimethyl groups. Aib-Aib is widely used as a critical structural building block in long-acting peptide drug design, solid-phase synthesis optimization, and self-assembling bionanomaterial research[1][2][3][4].
