Magnesium sulfate has anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, vasodilatory, and neuroprotective effects. Magnesium sulfate can be used in the research of diseases such as preeclampsia/eclampsia.

Biologische Aktivität
Magnesium sulfate (3 mM) inhibits phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate-specific phospholipase C activity and subsequent calcium release in cultured myometrial cells[2].
Magnesium sulfate (20 mM; 6 h) inhibits the LPS (HY-D1056)-induced inflammatory molecules production and NF-κB activation in RAW264.7 cells[3].

Animal Model:CD-1 out-bred timed pregnant mice, and intrauterine inflammation was induced by intrauterine injection of LPS (HY-D1056) on embryonic day 15[4]

Result:Prevented LPS-induced neuronal injury in fetal mouse brains, as evidenced by maintaining normal neuronal morphology, including dendritic processes and MAP2 staining, without significantly affecting the expression of proinflammatory cytokines or cell death markers.
