Description

Cyflufenamid is an oxime amide fungicide. Cyflufenamid inhibits the formation of haustoria, colonies and spores of Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici, and prevents germ tube elongation of Monilinia fructicola. Cyflufenamid is applicable to research related to powdery mildew and brown rot[1][2].

In Vitro

Cyflufenamid (0.01-100 ppm; 3-20 days) potently inhibits the in vitro mycelial growth of select Ascomycetes and Deuteromycetes, with the highest activity against Monilinia fructicola (EC50 = 0.01 ppm)[1].
Cyflufenamid (1-100 ppm; 2-24 hr) does not affect early spore germination or germ tube elongation of Monilinia fructicola, but inhibits germ tube elongation after 16 hr, leading to structural damage by 24 hr[1].
Cyflufenamid (1 ppm; 24 hr) induces ultrastructural changes in Monilinia fructicola hyphae after 24 hr of incubation, including loss of vacuolar electron-dense material, abnormal septa, hyphal rupture, and vacuolation[1].
Cyflufenamid (6.3-25 ppm; 10 days greenhouse storage, 10 days post-inoculation) exhibits excellent residual activity against cucumber powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca cucubitae) on cucumber seedlings (cv. Sagamihanjiro), with 100% control at 12.5 and 25 ppm when inoculated 10 days post-treatment, and 77% control at 6.3 ppm[2].
Cyflufenamid (12.5-50 ppm; 10 days greenhouse storage, 10 days post-inoculation) exhibits excellent translaminar activity against cucumber powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca cucubitae) on cucumber seedlings (cv. Sagamihanjiro), with 100% control at 25 and 50 ppm when the abaxial surface is inoculated 10 days after adaxial treatment, and 83% control at 12.5 ppm[2].
Cyflufenamid (3.1-50 ppm; 5 days root exposure, 10 days post-inoculation) shows minimal translocative activity from root to leaf against cucumber powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca cucubitae) on cucumber seedlings (cv. Sagamihanjiro), with only 25% control at 50 and 12.5 ppm and 13% control at 3.1 ppm after 5 days of root exposure[2].
Cyflufenamid (3.1-50 ppm; 10 days) exhibits excellent vapor phase activity against cucumber powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca cucubitae) on cucumber seedlings (cv. Sagamihanjiro), producing inhibition zones with diameters of 41 mm at 50 ppm, 38 mm at 12.5 ppm, and 33 mm at 3.1 ppm[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
