Adenovirus Infection

Adenovirus infection in immunocompromised patients is a rare but serious condition that can result from primary acquisition or reactivation of latent virus, leading to invasive and disseminated disease. Clinical manifestations are diverse and may include pneumonia, colitis, hepatitis, hemorrhagic cystitis, nephritis, encephalitis, and systemic involvement, with disease severity influenced by patient age and immune status, potentially resulting in life-threatening complications.
