IND8
IND8 is a α7 nAChR activator and cognitive enhancer. IND8 mediates cognitive enhancement by activating α7 nAChR . IND8 improves spatial working memory, episodic short-term memory and spatial long-term memory in amnesic mice induced by Scopolamine (HY-N0296). IND8 improves memory function in mice with delayed natural memory decline. IND8 can be used in research related to Alzheimer's disease.

Biological Activity
IND8 potently binds to and activates α7-nAChRs in cells expressing LGIC receptors, with a Kd of 0.12 μM and an EC50 of 0.03 μM[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
IND8 (10-25 μmol/kg; intraperitoneal injection; single administration) improves cognitive function in mice with delayed-induced natural memory decline[1].

Animal Model:ICR mice (male, 6-weeks of age, scopolamine-induced amnesia)[1]
-
Dosage:5 μmol/kg (1.5 mg/kg); 10 μmol/kg (2.9 mg/kg); 25 μmol/kg (7.3 mg/kg); 50 μmol/kg (14.7 mg/kg)
-
Administration:i.p.; single dose
-
Result:Significantly reversed scopolamine-induced cognitive deficit, with percentage of unfamiliar arm exploration significantly higher than the scopolamine-treated group.
Increased discrimination index (DI) at 10 μmol/kg and 50 μmol/kg compared to the scopolamine-treated group, and exploration time of the novel object was significantly longer than the familiar object.
Increased time spent in the target quadrant at 25 μmol/kg and 50 μmol/kg compared to the scopolamine-treated group.
