Methiozolin
Methiozolin is an oxazoline herbicide designed for the selective control of annual bluegrass in turfgrass. Methiozolin strongly inhibits the biosynthesis of cellulose and hemicellulose in corn root cells at low concentrations. Methiozolin inhibits recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana tyrosine aminotransferase, with a IC50 of approximately 200 µM. Methiozolin not only effectively controls vegetative growth but also significantly suppresses inflorescence formation, which helps reduce the seed bank.

Biological Activity
제품 설명
In Vivo
Methiozolin (500-2000 g ha-1; foliar application) suppresses annual bluegrass seed head production in a dose-dependent manner, with greater reduction in panicle number than panicle length at equivalent doses, and >80% suppression of panicle number achieved at 2000 g ha-1[1].
Methiozolin (500-2000 g ha−1; foliar + soil spray; foliar-only spray; soil-only pipette application) has herbicidal activity against Poa annua entirely dependent on soil uptake, as foliar-only application provides no control, while soil-only application matches the efficacy of combined foliar + soil application[1].
Methiozolin (500-1000 g a.i. ha-1; foliar spray via handheld sprayer delivering 1000 L ha-1; 3-week intervals; 12 times) provides the highest annual bluegrass control (~90-100%) when applied in the fall, with temporary, recoverable creeping bentgrass phytotoxicity that resolves by June, while spring applications provide lower control (40-60%) with no persistent injury[1].
