CHAPSO
Based on 1 Customer Validation
CHAPSO is a bile derivative. CHAPSO reduces protein adsorption, improves the cryo-EM imaging quality. CHAPSO can be used as a detergent, or as the membrane protein solubilization and reconstruction reagent in membrane protein structural studies.

Biological Activity
CHAPSO prevents bacterial transcription complexes from adsorbing on the air/water interface during cryo-EM grid preparation, thereby avoiding the generation of orientation bias. CHAPSO can be used for Cryo-EM sample preparation and Cryo-EM tomography[2].
CHAPSO forms a monolayer covering the air/water interface at the critical micelle concentration (CMC), changing the surface properties of the interface and preventing particle adsorption[2].
CHAPSO dissolves liposomes and membrane proteins, releasing them from lipid bilayer structures[3].
CHAPSO can be used to prepare phospholipid bilayers with specific orientations for nuclear magnetic resonance experiments[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
