MSK1 is a serine/threonine protein kinase that centralizes multiple cellular processes by phosphorylating key transcription factors. In response to stimuli such as UV-C irradiation, EGF, and anisomycin, MSK1 activates CREB1 and ATF1, affecting gene expression through histone phosphorylation.
