CHGA Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His)

Cat. No.: HY-P71727
COA Handling Instructions

CHGA protein robustly inhibits glucose-induced insulin release from the pancreas, functioning as a non-competitive nicotinic cholinergic antagonist. It inhibits catecholamine release, displays antibacterial activity, induces mast cell responses, and scavenges free radicals. CHGA may also regulate cardiac function and blood pressure. CHGA Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His) is the recombinant human-derived CHGA protein, expressed by P. pastoris , with N-His labeled tag. The total length of CHGA Protein, Human (P.pastoris, His) is 439 a.a., with molecular weight of ~50.9 kDa.

Background

CHGA protein exerts a strong inhibitory effect on glucose-induced insulin release from the pancreas. It functions as a non-competitive nicotinic cholinergic antagonist, inhibiting catecholamine release from chromaffin cells and noradrenergic neurons. Additionally, CHGA displays antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive (S. aureus and M. luteus) and Gram-negative bacteria (E. coli and P. aeruginosa). Moreover, it has the capacity to induce mast cell migration, degranulation, and the production of cytokines and chemokines. Furthermore, CHGA acts as a potent scavenger of free radicals in vitro and may play a role in the regulation of cardiac function and blood pressure.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
