IgJ Protein, Human (His)
Based on 1 Customer Validation
The IgJ protein links IgM or IgA monomers, nucleating IgM pentamers and inducing IgA dimer or polymer formation. It also binds these immunoglobulins to the secretory component. As part of the sIgA complex, IgJ integrates with IgA monomers, the J chain, and the secretory component (PIGR proteolytic product). IgJ Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived IgJ protein, expressed by E. coli , with C-His labeled tag.
- Species: Human
- Source: E. coli

Storage:Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
Biological Activity
The IgJ protein links IgM or IgA monomers, nucleating IgM pentamers and inducing IgA dimer or polymer formation. It also binds these immunoglobulins to the secretory component. As part of the sIgA complex, IgJ integrates with IgA monomers, the J chain, and the secretory component (PIGR proteolytic product). IgJ Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived IgJ protein, expressed by E. coli , with C-His labeled tag.
The IgJ protein plays a pivotal role in connecting two monomer units of either IgM or IgA. In the context of IgM, the J chain-joined dimer acts as a nucleating unit for the IgM pentamer, while in the case of IgA, it induces the formation of dimers and/or larger polymers. Additionally, IgJ facilitates the binding of these immunoglobulins to the secretory component. It is an integral part of the secretory IgA (sIgA) complex, which comprises two, four, or five IgA monomers, and two additional non-Ig polypeptides, namely the J chain and the secretory component (the proteolytic product of PIGR).
