Dimidazon inhibits photosynthetic electron transport by blocking the reoxidation of the primary electron acceptor Q, causing initial growth retardation followed by detoxification, fluorescence induction, and growth recovery in Scenedesmus acutus, without causing bleaching or inhibiting the water-splitting reaction. Dimidazon can be used for herbicidal activity research .
