Thiosultap monosodium (Monosultap) is a broad-spectrum insecticide and a competitive inhibitor of acetylcholine. Thiosultap monosodium exerts contact and stomach poisoning effects through systemic conduction in field pests. Thiosultap monosodium has teratogenic effects, induces notochord malformations in zebrafish embryos, and causes apoptosis and abnormally elevated cell proliferation in partial notochord tissues of zebrafish. Thiosultap monosodium is applicable to the research of controlling rice stem borers.

Description

Thiosultap monosodium (Monosultap) is a broad-spectrum insecticide and a competitive inhibitor of acetylcholine. Thiosultap monosodium exerts contact and stomach poisoning effects through systemic conduction in field pests. Thiosultap monosodium has teratogenic effects, induces notochord malformations in zebrafish embryos, and causes apoptosis and abnormally elevated cell proliferation in partial notochord tissues of zebrafish. Thiosultap monosodium is applicable to the research of controlling rice stem borers[1].

In Vivo

Thiosultap monosodium (0.25-0.75 mg/L) induces concentration-dependent developmental toxicity and notochord toxicity in zebrafish embryos, including body length shortening, inhibited hatching rate, increased heart rate, impaired motor ability, damaged notochord structure, upregulated expression of notochord-related genes, oxidative stress, as well as elevated levels of apoptosis and proliferation[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
