Description

16-Doxylstearic acid (16-DSA) (Free radical) is a form of stearic acid containing a 4,4-dimethyl-3-oxazolidinyloxy (DOXYL) group that forms a hydrophobic spin label. 16-Doxylstearic acid is often used to study on membrane fluidity[1].

In Vitro

16-Doxylstearic acid is used in membrane research, including: investigating the dynamics and state of water inside lipid bilayers via ¹H dynamic nuclear polarization; exploring the distribution of fatty acids; analyzing the transverse relaxation of nitrogen oxides for PELDOR spectroscopy and studying the effects of different lipid components on detergent-resistant membranes[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
