2,3-bis-O-Geranylgeranyl-sn-glycero-phospholipid reductase

2,3-bis-O-Geranylgeranyl-sn-glycero-phospholipid reductase (EC 1.3.7.11) is involved in the biosynthesis of archaeal membrane lipids, catalyzing the reduction of all eight double bonds in 2,3-bis-O-geranylgeranyl-sn-glycero-phospholipid and all four double bonds in 3-O-geranylgeranyl-sn-glycero-phospholipid. 2,3-bis-O-Geranylgeranyl-sn-glycero-phospholipid reductase shows no activity with NADPH and requires a specific ferredoxin.
