4-Hydroxybenzoate 1-hydroxylase (EC 1.14.13.64) is an oxidoreductase that can catalyze multiple reactions, including reaction 1: convert 4-hydroxybenzoate, NADPH, O2 and 2 H+ into hydroquinone, CO2, NADP+ and H2O; reaction 2: convert 4-hydroxybenzoate, NADH, O2 and 2 H+ into hydroquinone, CO2, NAD+ and H2O.
