5α-Cholestan-3β-ol is derived from cholesterol by the action of intestinal microorganisms. It is known to induce the formation of gall stones in rabbits in the presence of sodium ions. 5α-Cholestan-3β-ol is used as a standard in lipid analysis using HPLC.

  • Protocol 1

    Add each solvent one by one:  10% EtOH    90% Corn Oil

    Solubility: ≥ 1 mg/mL (2.57 mM); Clear solution

    This protocol yields a clear solution of ≥ 1 mg/mL (saturation unknown). If the continuous dosing period exceeds half a month, please choose this protocol carefully.

    Taking 1 mL working solution as an example, add 100 μL EtOH stock solution (10.0 mg/mL) to 900 μL Corn oil, and mix evenly.
