Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human Thyroid Cancer tissue using TSH Receptor/TSH-R antibody was performed. The section was pretreated using high-temperature and high-pressure mediated EDTA antigen retrieval buffer (pH 9.0), for 5 minutes. The tissues were incubated with primary antibody (HY-P81507, 1:500 dilution) at room temperature for 60 minutes. Detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with neutral balsam mounting medium.

Function
TSH Receptor/TSH-R receptor for the thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) or thyrotropin. Also acts as a receptor for the heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone (GPHA2:GPHB5) or thyrostimulin. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylate cyclase. Plays a central role in controlling thyroid cell metabolism[1][2].

Isoforms & Post-Translational Modification
P16473 has 3 isomers: P16473-1: 86844 Da (predicted); P16473-2: 28427 Da (predicted); P16473-3: 30800 Da (predicted).
Glycosylated;Sulfated. Sulfation on Tyr-385 plays a role in thyrotropin receptor binding and activation -
Subunit
Interacts with heterodimer GPHA2:GPHB5; this interaction stimulates cAMP production (PubMed:12045258). Interacts (via the PDZ-binding motif) with SCRIB; regulates TSHR trafficking and function (PubMed:15775968)
