BHMTPMP
BHMTPMP (Bis(hexamethylenetriaminepenta(methylenephosphonic acid))) is a polyphosphonate scale inhibitor with activity against barium sulfate precipitation. BHMTPMP delays nucleation and precipitation of barium sulfate in supersaturated brine solutions. BHMTPMP acts across wide ranges of saturation indices, temperatures, pH values, and brine compositions. BHMTPMP exhibits reduced inhibition efficiency with elevated saturation index and temperature, and enhanced efficiency with increased solution pH.

Biological Activity
BHMTPMP (1.0-10.0 mg/L) potently inhibits barium sulfate nucleation in synthetic Guerra brine at 70 °C, SI = 2.7, and pH = 6.5, with an inhibition efficiency of 0.38 L/mg, prolonging the nucleation induction period in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
