Definition:
Sf21 is a spodoptera frugiperda spontaneously immortalized cell line derived from Ovary. Its spontaneous immortalization permits extended propagation while retaining lineage-associated properties. Sf21 is used to investigate apoptosis, mitochondrial function, cytotoxicity, and viral infection in a controlled cellular system.
