Description

Bixlozone, a proherbicide that requires in planta activation to its phytotoxic form, 5-ketobixlozone, is used to selectively control annual ryegrass (Lolium rigidum) in Australian cereal and canola crops.[1].

In Vitro

Bixlozone (0.05-20 μM; 10 days) inhibits shoot chlorophyll production in seedlings of annual ryegrass, wheat, barley, canola, and wild radish with ED50 values of 0.08, 0.17, 1.13, 2.55, 1.29, 11.60, and 6.51 μM respectively[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
