AK-IN-1 is a competitive inhibitor of adenosine kinase (AK) with respect to adenosine (Ado) and uncompetitive with respect to ATP. AK-IN-1 inhibits cellular adenosine uptake and adenosine incorporation into macromolecules. AK-IN-1 can be used for research on ischemia, inflammation, and epilepsy.

AK-IN-1 (Compound ID 4072-2732) (2-10 μM) is a non-nucleoside inhibitor that inhibits purified recombinant AK in a concentration-dependent manner, inhibiting 86%, 87%, and 89% of AK activity at concentrations of 2, 4, and 10 µM, respectively[1].
