Biological Activity: (S)-6-Methylnicotine is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) agonist that exhibits agonistic activity on isolated guinea pig ileum. (S)-6-Methylnicotine produces sensations identical to those of nicotine and has addictive potential. (S)-6-Methylnicotine shows high cytotoxicity against human bronchial epithelial cells and exerts a weak effect on the upregulation of lung cancer-related proteins. (S)-6-Methylnicotine can be used in the research of respiratory system diseases[1][2].
