Biological Activity: Terizidone is an antibacterial agent. Terizidone acts as a prodrug to release D-cycloserine (HY-B0030), which competitively inhibits alanine racemase and D-alanine:D-alanine ligase, interfering with peptidoglycan synthesis and thereby inhibiting cell wall assembly in Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Terizidone does not significantly inhibit human liver microsomal CYP1A2 or CYP2C9 enzyme activity. Terizidone can be used in research related to tuberculosis[1][2].
