Biological Activity: RO-28-2653 is an orally active matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor. RO-28-2653 exhibits highly selective inhibitory effects on MMP2, MMP9 and membrane-type 1-MMP, and may reduce side effects (such as musculoskeletal pain) compared to broad-spectrum MMP inhibitors. RO-28-2653 shows significant tumor growth inhibition in a rat prostate model. RO-28-2653 can be used in studies of hormone-sensitive tumors[1][2].
