Biological Activity: MBX2319 is an AcrB inhibitor and antibiotic efficacy restorer that potently inhibits RND-type efflux pumps of Enterobacteriaceae species. MBX2319 increases antibacterial activity of fluoroquinolone and β-lactam antibiotics against Escherichia coli, restores antibiotic efficacy, and reduces antibiotic MIC against Gram-negative bacteria. MBX2319 has no inherent antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and does not alter bacterial outer membrane permeability. MBX2319 can be used for the research of gram-negative bacterial infections and multidrug-resistant gram-negative bacterial infections[1][2][3].
