Biological Activity: Actiphenol is an antibiotic against coxsackievirus B3 and influenza A virus (IC50s = 14.37 and 34.4 µg/mL, respectively). Actiphenol is also an aromatic ketone that exhibits weak eukaryotic translation inhibiton activity, which is found in Streptomyces species. Actiphenol can be used as a key intermediate to synthesize Cycloheximide (HY-12320)[1][2].
