Allantoxanamide
Based on 1 Customer Validation
Allantoxanamide is a uricase inhibitor that induces hyperuricemia by inhibiting uric acid degradation. Allantoxanamide inhibits uricase activity in vitro with an IC50 of approximately 0.9 μM and increases serum uric acid levels in rats. Allantoxanamide can be used for the study of hyperuricemia, uric acid metabolism, hyperuricemia-associated nephropathy, and related metabolic research.

uricase 0.9 μM (IC50) |
In Vitro
Allantoxanamide inhibits uricase activity in vitro with an IC50 of approximately 0.9 μM[1].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
In Vivo
Allantoxanamide (150 mg/kg; i.p.) induces acute hyperuricemia in Sprague-Dawley rats and reduces renal 1-α hydroxylase protein and 1,25(OH)2D levels[2].
Allantoxanamide (150 mg/kg; i.p.) produces sustained hyperuricemia in rats, accompanied by reduced uric acid excretion, renal dysfunction, proteinuria, and urinary occult blood[3].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
Induced Disease Models
Note:
Please do not refer to only one article to determine the experimental conditions. It is recommended to determine the optimal experimental conditions (animal strain, age, dosage, frequency and cycle, detection time and indicators, etc.) through preliminary experiments before the formal experiment.
Administration: Allantoxanamide (150 mg/kg; i.p.; once) suspended in 1% gum arabic solution (2 mL/kg body weight) to induce hyperuricemia
(2) Allantoxanamide-induced hyperuricemia is associated with reduced renal uric acid excretion and renal dysfunction due to nephrotoxicity in addition to uricase inhibition.
Biochemical analysis: Increased urinary protein and urinary occult blood; altered renal function-related parameters.
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
