Description

(E)-2-(4-Cinnamoylphenoxy)acetic acid is an antimicrobial agent with a minimum inhibitory concentration of 125 μg/mL against Mycobacterium smegmatis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans[1].

In Vitro

(E)-2-(4-Cinnamoylphenoxy) acetic acid (Compound 10a) (10 mg/mL; 12 h) inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium smegmatis and Candida albicans in the well diffusion assay, producing inhibition zones of 11.33 mm and 12.00 mm, respectively[1].
(E)-2-(4-Cinnamoylphenoxy) acetic acid (125 μg/mL; 10-12 h) inhibits the growth of Mycobacterium smegmatis, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans, with an MIC of 125 μg/mL for all three strains[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
