Handling Instructions Technical Support

FA2 glycan (G0F) (FA2 N-linked oligosaccharide; F(6)A2 glycan) is a core-fucosylated biantennary N-linked oligosaccharide that serves as a prostate cancer biomarker. The level of FA2 glycan (G0F) is higher in prostate cancer than in benign prostatic hyperplasia, and it is further elevated in advanced prostate cancer with a Gleason score ≥8 compared with both benign prostatic hyperplasia and low-/intermediate-risk prostate cancer. FA2 glycan (G0F) can be used in prostate cancer research.

Description

FA2 glycan (G0F) (FA2 N-linked oligosaccharide; F(6)A2 glycan) is a core-fucosylated biantennary N-linked oligosaccharide that serves as a prostate cancer biomarker. The level of FA2 glycan (G0F) is higher in prostate cancer than in benign prostatic hyperplasia, and it is further elevated in advanced prostate cancer with a Gleason score ≥8 compared with both benign prostatic hyperplasia and low-/intermediate-risk prostate cancer. FA2 glycan (G0F) can be used in prostate cancer research[1].

In Vitro

FA2 is a common glycan core structure in the process of glycan synthesis[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

In clinical trials, the percentage of FA2 increases with the progression of PCa. No significant difference in FA2 composition is observed between patients with BPH and those with low-risk PCa (GS<8), while the FA2 composition in patients with high-risk PCa (GS≥8) is significantly higher than that in patients with BPH and low-risk PCa. FA2 and α2,3-linked sialic acid contents are expected to be effectively used to distinguish high-risk PCa from BPH and low-/intermediate-risk PCa. Compared with healthy controls, the FA2 level in ovarian cancer patients also shows an increasing trend[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
