Used to study hypertension and pulmonary hypertension. Biomarker of diabetic retinopathy; end stage renal disease; hypertension; and myocardial infarction. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in artery disease (multiple); asthma; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and phagocyte bactericidal dysfunction (multiple).
