N42FTA
N42FTA is a non-covalent, non-suicidal inhibitor of FabA from Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, with IC50 values of 3.27 μM and 2.31 μM, respectively. As a natural substrate mimetic, N42FTA blocks the cross-linking between acyl carrier protein and FabA in Escherichia coli. N42FTA shows no significant antibacterial activity due to poor permeability. N42FTA can be used in studies related to Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli infections.

Biological Activity
N42FTA inhibits Pseudomonas aeruginosa FabA in direct ultraviolet absorption assays with an IC50 of 3.27 μM; it also inhibits Escherichia coli FabA with an IC50 of 2.31 μM[1].
N42FTA competitively inhibits Pseudomonas aeruginosa FabA in coupled fluorescence assays, with an IC50 of 2 μM (pIC50 = 5.7)[1].
N42FTA binds to Pseudomonas aeruginosa FabA, with a binding constant of 4 μM measured by isothermal titration calorimetry[1].
N42FTA (250 μM; 24 h) inhibits 94% of the cross-linking between E. coli FabA and acyl carrier protein, thereby blocking the formation of the native substrate-enzyme complex[1].
