Biological Activity

Description

BCKDK Protein, Human is the recombinant human-derived BCKDK, expressed by E. coli, with tag free labeled tag.

Background

BCKDK is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that functions as a metabolic regulator by forming a kinase-phosphatase pair with PPM1K. It coordinates branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) catabolism with glucose and lipid metabolism through phosphorylation of two distinct targets: 1) the mitochondrial BCKDHA subunit of BCKDH complex (inactivating it via Ser-337 phosphorylation to disrupt substrate channeling), and 2) cytosolic ACLY (phosphorylating Ser-455 during feeding transitions to promote lipogenesis/gluconeogenesis via MLXIPL/ChREBP-mediated transcriptional regulation). Recognizes phosphosites with SxxE/D motif.

Verified Bioactivity

The kinase activity of this recombinant protein is testing in progress, we cannot offer a guarantee yet.
