Chordin-like 1/CHRDL1 Protein, Human (N-His)

Cat. No.: HY-P77896A
COA Handling Instructions

The CHRDL1 protein acts as a BMP4 antagonist, blocking its receptor interaction and redirecting neural stem cells from gliogenesis to neurogenesis. The role of CHRDL1 in preventing glial cell fate adoption supports neuronal differentiation in the brain. Chordin-like 1/CHRDL1 Protein, Human (N-His) is the recombinant human-derived Chordin-like 1/CHRDL1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-His labeled tag. The total length of Chordin-like 1/CHRDL1 Protein, Human (N-His) is 429 a.a., with molecular weight of ~50 kDa.

Description

Background

The Chordin-like 1 (CHRDL1) protein serves as an antagonist to BMP4 by binding to it, thus impeding its interaction with receptors. This interaction leads to a shift in the fate commitment of neural stem cells, steering them away from gliogenesis towards neurogenesis. CHRDL1's involvement in preventing the adoption of a glial fate contributes to the neuronal differentiation of neural stem cells in the brain. Beyond its role in neural development, CHRDL1 may play a crucial part in dorsoventral axis formation and embryonic bone development (By similarity). Additionally, CHRDL1 is implicated in regulating retinal angiogenesis by modulating BMP4 actions in endothelial cells. Its participation in anterior segment eye development underscores its multifaceted role in various developmental processes.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
