Biological Activity
Complement factor I Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Complement factor I protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-His tag.
Complement factor I is a trypsin-like serine protease that plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response by controlling all complement pathways. It inhibits these pathways by cleaving three peptide bonds in the alpha-chain of C3b and two bonds in the alpha-chain of C4b, thereby inactivating these proteins. Essential cofactors for these reactions include factor H and C4BP in the fluid phase, as well as membrane cofactor protein/CD46 and CR1 on cell surfaces. The presence of these cofactors on healthy cells allows CFI to degrade deposited C3b, preventing undesired complement activation, while their absence in apoptotic cells or microbes leads to C3b-mediated complement activation and subsequent opsonization.

Product Properties
Lyophilized powder.
Lyophilized from a 0.22 μm filtered solution of 20 mM Tris, 150 mM NaCl, pH 8.0, 8% trehalose.
Note: For SPR assay, please replace the buffer. Primary amine components (e.g., Tris, imidazole) can affect protein-coupled chips.
<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.
It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O.
