DEC-205/CD205 protein acts as an endocytic receptor, directing antigens to an antigen-processing compartment. It also reduces B lymphocyte proliferation. The DEC-205/CD205 protein functions as an endocytic receptor, responsible for directing captured antigens from the extracellular space to a specialized antigen-processing compartment. Additionally, it has been observed to cause reduced proliferation of B lymphocytes (By similarity).
