Background

ERN2 induces translational repression through cleavage of 28S ribosomal RNA in response to ER stress. It exhibits pro-apoptotic activity. Unlike closely related proteins, ERN2 appears to play no role in the unfolded-protein response. by similar: The functional mechanism shares similarities with certain pro-apoptotic factors, though its regulatory network shows distinct features.
