Biological Activity

Description

HTRA3 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived HTRA3, expressed by E. coli , with His labeled tag. ,

Background

HTRA3 is a serine protease that cleaves beta-casein/CSN2 and several extracellular matrix (ECM) proteoglycans, including decorin/DCN, biglycan/BGN, and fibronectin/FN1. It potentially inhibits signaling mediated by TGF-beta family proteins, likely indirectly through the degradation of these ECM proteoglycans (by similarity). This protein may function as a tumor suppressor. In vitro studies suggest it negatively regulates trophoblast invasion during placental development, with possible in vivo relevance. Additionally, HTRA3 might play roles in ovarian development, granulosa cell differentiation, and luteinization.
